Dehydration: A prove of the importance of water
We all know that 60 percents of our bodies contains water as main part of each cell. Water also plays important role in food digestion and absorption system, get rid of waste from the body, support excretory system, and control body temperature. Living without water is impossible and lack of water can cause many severe symptoms.
Dehydration is the condition that the body loses too much water through sweat or any body waste fluid while it doesn’t get sufficient volume of water to balance the loss. One of major factors is heat during summer.
If you have a bit dehydration condition around 0- 6 percents, you will feel thirsty, exhausted, headache, and high body temperature, breathe rate, and pulse. 8- 11 percents of water loss may cause dizziness, difficulty to breathe, immediate cramp, defective blood circulation, kidneys malfunction, and eventually could faint away or death.
Right volume of sufficient water intake
To avoid dehydration, we should drink much water. But, how much is ‘sufficient’ and how much is ‘too much’ for a day?
Most individuals believe that to drink at least 2 litters or 8 to 10 glassed of water is sufficient for daily need. Nevertheless, this volume of water may not suitable for every one. The intake water, thus, should be based on each one body weight. You may be able to easily calculate your suitable water volume intake for each day by below formulation.
Daily water intake (milliliters) = (weight in kilograms x 2.2 x 30) /2
For example, if your weight is 80 kilograms or 176 pounds, you should drink 2,640 milliliters or around 2.5 liters per day. A balance level of water intake can help you to avoid dehydration or drink too much water condition which will cause too much workload to the kidneys. Anyway in summer time, you may drink a bit more than regular volume as you will lose more water than normal.
Timing of water intake
After you knew how much water you should drink per day, next consideration is how to drink water during the day? As you could not drink all 2.5 litters or around 7 glasses of water for one time, so you may plan to drink 2-5 glasses of water as your first routine after you wake us (so that you will not forgot it) to drain the waste off the body.
Then, you can have small portion of drinking for the rest of the day. Considering, you can drink 15 minutes before meal and 40 minutes after meal. Also you can drink during a meal but it should be not more than 1 glass of water because it can reduce the ability of digestive system. Do not drink too muck water before go to bed otherwise you have to wake up to go to the rest room all night and can not sleep well.
Water is the best for summer
Drinking cool water can refresh the body in hot summer time, but too cool water may affect your body temperature and digestion systems so the best choice should be at room temperature. Clean and clear water is the most delicious liquid for your body.
