Protein is a significant part of a diet. Protein is the only food type consisting all of the essential fatty acids and essential amino acids which generate cells, hormones, and repair damaged cells. Tofu is a kind of food for vegetarians and has been an ingredient of Asian receipts for centuries. It is made from soybeans, water and a coagulant, or curdling agent. This type of food contains protein and calcium in high level. In a half-cup of raw firm, tofu consisted of 10.1 grams of protein. So men should eat tofu for 56 grams and women for 46 grams per day to gain adequate protein for body.

Apart from protein, tofu contains 94 calories in a half up of raw firm and 227 mg of calcium in a half cup of firm. It also contain iron, and fat. As tofu is made of soybeans which are a plant source of cholesterol, it is rich in polyunsaturated fats, fibers, and vitamins. And as we already know, cholesterol is not also a good thing for human body. And soy proteins have far less saturated fat than animal sources. Thus, animal proteins and other calorie rich products that can enhance the level of bad cholesterol in the blood can be easily replaced by Soya products to treat high cholesterol naturally.

Also tofu is good food for everyone. It can be a good food for a baby. It can be the food for baby since the baby start 8 months of age. However, keep in mind that people can get allergic by the soy bean so watch carefully for any signs of an allergic reaction. Symptoms include nausea, vomiting, stuffy or runny nose, watery or red eyes and wheezing. Should you ever suspect your baby is allergic to a particular type of food, then contact a medical professional immediately.

Tofu has a good taste for kids and soft enough for babies. So it is not hard to feed them. You may start the food by blending tofu with cottage cheese or avocado, for a simple, nutritious meal. Soft tofu creamed with fruit would make a delicious dessert for baby. As your choice, tofu can be cut into chunks and served to your baby raw, as a healthy finger food.
